Conference on Leadership in Sustainability


Welcome to the upcoming Conference of the University Network for Climate and Ecosystems Change and Adaptation Research on 16 June 2013 at Beijing, China. It will focus on Leadership in Sustainability, and is jointly organized by United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP), Chinese Academy of Forestry and Tsinghua University. In conjunction to the Conference, UN-CECAR will be hosting its 7th Strategic Planning Workshop on 17-19 June 2013 in Hubei, China.


With the recognition that success of translating sustainability concepts into actions depend heavily on leadership, the thematic focus of 2013 is Leadership in Sustainability that will develop programs on sustainability leadership aims and response to foster future leaders with a deep understanding and awareness of sustainability challenges. This conference will focus on five elements with a view to draw relevant elements to develop a new postgraduate course. The five elements include Sustainability and Leadership Aims, Leadership Responses, Sustainability in Business, Communications, Education, Advocacy, Cooperation, Collaboration and Partnerships.
